Suffolk Young People's Health Project

Operating from an open-access centre in Ipswich town centre, we aim to improve the emotional, physical and social health of young people aged 12-25. SYPHP offers a warm, friendly environment for all, including those that often cannot find support elsewhere. We educate healthier outcomes by offering advice and support on major issues identified by young people themselves: contraception and sexual health, substance and alcohol abuse, depression, mental health issues, self harm, diet and nutrition.
Why the community needs this charity

SYPHP coordinates a range of services including drop-in activities, counselling, a sexual health clinic, shower and laundry facilities, programmes on self-esteem and confidence building. We provide jobs, work experience and promote employable skills, whilst also creating volunteering opportunities. We aim to promote less challenging, and tackle anti-social behaviour. We help young people understand their local community with respect and assist those with criminal intent to move away from it.

Results and outcomes
