Community Foundations and their role in Localgiving.com

The 56 Community Foundations are experts in strengthening local communities through effective charitable giving. Each is a member of the Community Foundation Network. The Community Foundation Network and each local Community Foundation are independent charities registered with the Charity Commission or OSCR.

Each charitable organisation that appears on Localgiving.com has been validated by either their local Community Foundation or the Community Foundation Network in a process approved by the Charity Commission. This process ensures that you can feel confident about the donations you make and that your donation is appropriately spent by trustworthy charitable organisations.

All donations made on Localgiving.com are processed either through their local Community Foundation or through the Community Foundation Network, allowing us to claim Gift Aid, even for small community groups too small to be registered with the Charity Commission or OSCR.
