A user-led organisation leading the way in addiction Recovery.
The Basement Recovery Project (TBRP) is an award winning, independent, community based organisation in Halifax. We offer those in addiction to alcohol or drugs a new way of life, free from the need or desire to use any mood altering substance; we call this RECOVERY. Through our unique Recovery Programme, people are able to quit their drink and drug addiction for life. TBRP also runs a breakfast club each Tue and Thu for those in need.
Why the community needs usThe Basement Recovery Project saves lives - working with people in chaos to provide a safety net, through to those who want to change and recover. Our service is unique and fills the gaps in the treatment for substance and alcohol abuse. The project is free to attend and run by staff and volunteers, all of whom are in Recovery and many have been through the TBRP Recovery Programme too. We also provide twice weekly drop-ins for food (Breakfast Club) for those who are socially excluded or homeless
Our impact on the communityIn addition to feeding 80-100 people in need twice weekly TBRP also support dozens of people every year through our addiction recovery programme. People wishing to stop drinking /drugging and regain control of their lives really can and do through our service. Our results are at least twice as successful as the national average.
