Ageing Well in Lewisham - Supporting older people to maintain social links and independence.

Since 1999, Lewisham Churches Care has worked to enhance the quality of life of vulnerable older people in Lewisham, especially those who are isolated due to physical or cognitive challenges. Our programmes increase mental and physical well-being through activities that encourage social interaction, mobility and creativity.

We reach hundreds of socially isolated older adults every year with our creative projects. We've had to be even more creative during the months of lockdown to support our members, with socially distanced home visits, regular phone calls, and online video sessions. Our connections with many other local organisations helps us to support our members by signposting to relevant programmes to help them stay motivated and independent. We are a registered charity supported by dedicated team of Trustees, and our programmes are run by our core staff and session leaders, with the immeasurable help of our volunteers.
