Appledore Visual Arts Festival brings together artists and community in a creative celebration.

Founded in 1997, Appledore Arts is committed to the belief that the Arts can enhance and regenerate communities through exposure to creative activity.
Why the community needs this charity

Appledore is based in Torridge, where unemployment is higher than average and Torridge District Council can only provide limited support to the Arts. Our aim is to involve our local community in a variety of Arts based activities. This includes year-round arts projects as well as the annual festival.

Artists in Schools Workshops

This project aims to fund artists to work with local children to create 3D structures that reflect the maritime heritage of Appledore, such as boats, fish and flags. These will be featured in the procession that is the finale of the festival. The procession brings together all those involved in the festival and benefits the whole community by providing a vibrant event celebrating the area's rich culture and connection with the sea. read more
