Making every moment count
The Charity solely funds: day therapy, bereavement counselling, Hospice at Home service, support on the in-patient unit, complementary therapists, tea bar, support and management of over 250 volunteers, chaplaincy costs, schools' liaison officer, refurbishment projects and much more. The support we give to end of life patients, their families and carers helps people cope with the loss and ensures that patients get the most of out of the time they have with us.
Our Hospice at Home service helps patients stay in their own homes, if that is where they choose to die. Nurses and healthcare assistant provide that vital support to patients and their families during the night when it can be difficult to get the right help in the home. The day therapy service we fund gives patients a programme of activity over a course of weeks to help them manage their condition and meet with people in similar circumstances.
Be part of this fantastic event by strolling alongside hundreds of walkers and help improve the lives of those affected by cancer and other life limiting illness. To find out more about the event or to register, click here http://www.starshinestroll.co.uk/ or call 01223 723115. read more
The Day Therapy Lounge is used by patients who come in for day therapy. During their programme of care in day therapy they receive support in copying with their medical condition, both physically and mentally, they are able to talk to people in similar circumstances to themselves and they can engage in creative therapy. The day therapy lounge had become very 'tired' and depressing. This project is about giving the room a complete overhaul to brighten it up. We still wish to purchase items. read more
