Why the community needs this charity

Transforming dull playground walls into vibrant interactive mosaic and painted murals; reclaiming disused wasteland to create active community gardens and putting participatory creative projects into the public realm.

Results and outcomes

We have been established since 1999. Delivered over 300 commissions. Produced 6 Art4Space community films. Reached out to over 10,000 participants, Trained 60 volunteers. Age range of participants 2 - 96 years old. Highly commended Lambeth Business Awards. 2011 - Best Creative Business and Lambeth Favourite Business. 2009 - Finalist Best Green Business.

Clipathon!

'CLIPATHON' The Art4space staff and volunteers will mosaic through the night of 11/11/11 to create a mosaic notice board for the Art4Space Centre to let the local community know about events and courses at the centre. WE NEED YOUR HELP - the magic numbers are 10 people give £10 and tell 10 more people who also give £10 and tell 10 more people who give £10 to achieve our target of £1000... any monies left over will be put towards insulating the building and buying more heaters.  read more

Volunteer 'open' Tuesdays

A volunteer who comes along to the volunteer sessions says, 'It has been great to learn more about the process of mosaicking and Julie, Eli and other volunteers are really encouraging and supportive of the work the volunteers do and make people feel very welcome and comfortable. It is wonderful to be part of community projects and to work with and meet different people every week. It is so important that centres such as these remain within communities as they are integral to the grow.' read more
