Bridging the skills gap in Basingstoke & Deane http://www.basingstokeconsortium.com
Since 1986 we have offered practical opportunities to experience the world of work and the wider community, designed to inspire tomorrow's workforce today. Young people tell us how this kind of engagement inspires them. Each year we work with thousands of young people from 5 - 19.
Why the community needs this charity
To improve the life skills of local young people and support the growth of the economy. To promote motivation,self confidence and social skills required for adult life.
Results and outcomes
The Basingstoke Consortium helped over 4,000 local young people prepare for the world of work in the last year. Over 700 local companies gave a total of over 25,000 hours of volunteer time to support our work related learning programmes.

Skillstree
Skillstree is here to make a difference. We want to turn those important first steps at work into a positive experience by ensuring that young people are 'work ready' and empowered to be the best they can be. read more
Volunteers Required
Volunteer Ambassadors are needed to help young people gain an insight into today's ever-changing work place. Ambassadors volunteer to support school based activities, work based activities, mentoring, workshops, careers days and interview skill days. Volunteers just need to be enthusiastic with the ability to talk to and relate to young people who are facing ever increasing challenges to find a suitable career path.
