BK LUWO is different to other services as it offers culturally appropriate activities to a 'hard-to-reach' group, attracting participants in a relaxed way with a warm welcome and providing a learning space in a safe, mutually supportive atmosphere. New skills are learnt and existing skills are passed on.
BK LUWO is a user-led community group that has a huge impact empowering its participants - improving mental and emotional health, confidence and self-worth, while bringing people together and breaking isolation.
Acholi Day is a day for celebrating Acholi culture. There will be fashion shows, drama, music and dance, storytelling, talks on Acholi history and African food and drink. There will be plenty of opportunities for both children and adults to participate in the interactive part of the programme including traditional dance challenges and trying out some Acholi activities. read more
