Each week around the Leeds area, The Boys' Brigade works with over 200 children & young people in 8 companies (groups) around the City. The Boys' Brigade provides a balanced programme of activities for children and young people from 5 to 18 years old. These resources have been developed to help volunteer youth leaders work in a relevant and creative way. Through these programmes the Boys' Brigade will be able to make a positive contribution to a young person's values, beliefs and lifestyle.
Why the community needs usThe Boys' Brigade (BB) in Leeds works in 8 different locations - Farsley, Garforth, Beeston, Headingley, Hyde Park, Armley/Bramley, Tingley and Swinnow. Over 200 children and young people access the BB on a weekly basis and take part in a detailed programme of activities which focus on the mental, physical and spiritual needs of each participant. Activities include, sports, games, arts and crafts and outdoor pursuits.
Our impact on the communityEach child and young person attending the Boys' Brigade will work through a detailed programme of activities and given awards badges to help recognise a sense of achievement. Our programmes are developed to help challenge each participants values, beliefs and lifestyle, thus contributing to a more positive sense of value within the local community.
