To raise money for the community of Bridgham in order to improve the social and built environment and to celebrate the village's heritage. Donations received since September 2011 total £9746.99 including Gift Aid and match funding. This is an amazing contribution from the local community and friends of Bridgham who live further afield. A huge 'thank-you' to all those who given their support either financially or as volunteers.
75% of Bridgham's 350 residents have moved to the village in the last 15 years. There is a need to build a cohesive community involving people of all ages. This aim is mainly achieved in two ways: a)by staging exciting and imaginative events which encourage villagers to actively participate or at least to attend as observers; and b)by contributing financially to the village hall, playing field, children's play equipment, senior citizens Luncheon Club and the fabric fund of the medieval church.
Since 2000, BMG has funded children's play equipment, art & craft exhibitions, concerts, Viking re-enactment weekends, Elizabethan banquet, 1949 reunion, village history book, boundary stones, millennium seat, tree-planting,tapestry and cross-stitch, keep-fit classes for the over-60s, community choir, beating the bounds, villagers' football team versus Bridgham Utd & Diamond Jubilee events. 'I feel so proud of just being a Bridghamite. BMG is a triumph - it really brings us together in spirit.'
