Empowering, Supporting & Promoting the Deaf Community in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough
CDA works with deaf people providing information, advocacy and support services so that they are able to make informed decisions about their lives. CDA also raises awareness of deafness and deaf culture to the wider community. We are passionate about reducing the social isolation of deaf people and enabling equality and inclusion across all services.
Why the community needs usIn addition to our advocacy and support services CDA provides a wide range of other services for the D/deaf community across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough including; drop-ins, befriending, skills club, information sessions, deaf church services, deaf and deaf/hearing social clubs & events. We also provide Deaf Awareness training and accredited courses in British Sign Language.
Our impact on the community
We need people with strong British Sign Language (BSL) to volunteer with our support services for D/deaf people. We also need people (deaf and hearing) to help us promote and develop our organisation.
