CedarOak offers free care & support to anyone in distress from unplanned pregnancy or any baby loss.

We offer: * Pregnancy testing & help for people facing a crisis pregnancy to think through all the options, and make a decision they can live with. * Ongoing support whatever they decide. * A Post Abortion Recovery Program to anyone struggling after abortion. * Support after any baby loss. * Sex and Relationships Education in secondary schools, helping young people to think about healthy relationships and the choices they would face in unplanned pregnancy.
Why the community needs this charity

CedarOak Centre is based in Gosport, an area of high teen pregnancy, & we hold a weekly drop-in clinic in Fareham. We seek to provide a neutral space & ongoing support for anyone struggling with decisions around pregnancy and baby loss. We have referrals from GP's, midwives, schools and youth groups so are seen as a valued resource in the community. We deliver Sex & Relationship lessons helping pupils to make healthy lifestyle choices, think about relationships & choices in crisis pregnancy.

Results and outcomes

We believe our work within the local secondary schools has had a positive effect on lowering the number of teenage pregnancies in the area. Feedback from our post abortion trauma recovery courses has shown that those participating have been greatly helped to move forward with their lives. We are a respected voice represented on the Hampshire LIT committee. We have recently been awarded a grant from the Hampshire Childrens' Services Integrated Grant.

Volunteers Required

We are currently seeking funding to enable us to expand our service within the schools and communities of the Gosport and Fareham area. We hope to move forward with our plans and will post updates here of the particular skills that we will be looking for from new volunteers as soon as we can. We hope that we will be able to offer challenging opportunities for people to be part of a team helping young people, women and families facing unplanned pregnancy or child loss.
