We provide a secure & friendly environment to help people build confidence & trust. We work with people to help develop their self esteem & encourage them to engage in community activities including employment, voluntary work & education. We provide a wide range of support services to people suffering mental health problems in the West Sussex area including, group support, setting personal goals, help & advice for carers & their family, individual support & encouragement for a positive future.
We have been an important part of the local community since 1972. Our staff & volunteers have helped hundreds of people suffering poor mental health issues to regain their lives, helping them be as independent as possible, build friendships, relationships and return to work. Chichester Area Mind has played an invaluable role in facilitating, creating and developing a large number of supportive Mental Health services in the West Sussex area. Over 120 people access these services every week.
We involve all our clients in a large variety of games and activities within a safe and non-judgemental environment, including crafts & outdoor pursuits. read more
We give help & support to suffering mothers, here the mothers can express their feelings & share experiences with other mums with similar issues. We encourage play & interaction with the children & allow time alone to talk over their feelings read more

A time bank is a great way to help each other in exchange for your "time" you meet new people and make new friendships whilst supporting your local community. You can help in a number of ways, such as gardening, catering,general DIY, teaching & typing, any skill you have can be exchanged for a skill you require. read more
We recognise that each person with Dementia is an individual with likes, dislikes, needs and preferences. Our day is centred around this principle with activities to stimulate interest and encourage participation and social interaction, including exercise, music and a good singalong. read more

This project is a young peoples mental health service. The project offers outreach & support to young people aged 15-25. Young people are encouraged to take an active role in development & the running of the project. read more

Friendly and informal gathering for older people, enabling members to give mutual support to one another. With games, occasional outings and other activities. Refreshments available and transport arranged if required. read more
Chichester Area Mind always welcomes volunteers to give support in our groups. We are looking for people with a wide variety of skills & a caring nature to help in any of our projects. We currently have 30 volunteers helping to provide a high quality of services to promote the empowerment of people with mental health problems.
