GOBB (Group of Boys Boxing)

A health program to tackle substance misuse and smoking habits with young people. The criteria for referrals will be; - Young people known to misuse substances. - Young People that regularly smoke. - Young People that do not regularly participate in sport or physical activity - Young people who do not attend school. Participants will undergo a 30 week program designed to; - improve health and well being - reduce substance misuse and smoking habits - Increase attendance.

Why they need our service

The need has also been identified by the young people who would like more help and support to 'kick' their habits and lead a healthier lifestyle. Young people feel there is not the right support and opportunities available to tackle the issues and have also stated that they have low confidence in accessing community health and Sport and Physical Activity Provisions.

SHOOT

The SHOOT project is a series of outreach sports sessions delivered by a multi skilled team of qualified Youth Workers, Sports Coaches and Volunteers to delivering 45 x 2 hour on local recreation grounds and Multi use games areas in the local villages. A 'skills learned' showcase event will be held in the form of a inter youth club tournament annually. We are aiming to offer a variety of different volunteering opportunities to 20+ young people of the local communities. read more

GOBB 4 GIRLZ

Community CARTS piloted a 30 week confidence building project for 24 young girls aged 13 - 16 based at Witchford Village College. Members of the group were, young careers, non school attendees (pre-NEET'S - not in school, education or training), at risk of being excluded due to challenging behaviour (anger management issues) with many extremely low in self-esteem & confidence. The project was to run a series of confidence building fitness workshops with a unique team of staff. read more

SADS - Teenage Explosion

A drama project based around the topic of teenage pregnancy. A group of young people aged 11-19 have written a script, support by professional script writers and will be performing dance routines that have been choreographed by tutors from Bodywork Dance Company in Cambridge.
