We influence policy and the design of services, support the ongoing needs of the families we work with and develop partnerships that will enable positive change to happen. We do this in a variety of ways: Strategic influencing of statutory agencies, representing the views of families. The services for members includes direct support, signposting, newsletter, website, events etc. We deliver training, consultancy and person centred planning. Projects that support families.
Our outcomes: Empowered families, greater expectations, less social and economic isolation, improved emotional wellbeing, and better services
At the moment we are looking for Trustees. Ideally parents of disabled children themselves and experienced in voluntary sector governance with particular interest in social model of disability. Trustees are expected to attend meetings quarterly in the evenings and can get as involved as they wish to do so in project working.
