People's lives can be devastated by the grief and turmoil a death can cause. It can destroy a family. Cruse volunteers work one to one with people, young and old, aiming to enable them to face the future and rebuild their lives. They may be having great difficulty coping with family or work responsibilities. We help give them strategies to cope whilst allowing them to express and understand their grief. Last year 1371 one to one sessions were given by our volunteers 528 new Helpline enquiries
User views: I felt pole-axed..I was helped to face and talk through my anxieties and cope with daily life and find my inner strength: gradually I felt more in control and now I feel positive, full of energy and looking forward to the future. My counsellor was lovely, very professional yet very human.Excellent listener with empathy and care.He remained calm and steady even when I was not. Amazing, saved my life, relationship with my partner and my ability to parent..saved me from becoming very ill.
