'Cats' The Musical

Everyone is familiar with 'Cats', it's appeared on a West End stage for nearly 30 years. Only recently has it been released for amateur youth groups and so CVYT were very lucky indeed to be one of the first to perform it. It was a very challanging show. To learn the dancing and singing required extreme discipline and concentration and we believe all the children involved benefited greatly from this. It was hard work for all of us but a. standing ovation every night made it all worth while!

Why they need our service

All our cast were aged 8 years to 18 years and had the opportunity to be a part of a very popular west end musical. Cast members enjoyed 6 months of rehearsals learning to sing, dance and act. They then had the amazing opportunity to peform with a 16 piece orchestra and a professional sound and lighting team.

Plan and expected results

A true success. A wonderful memory for all. A lesson learned - hard work pays off! We have received dozens of letters and emails congratulating the cast and crew on such an amazing and professional show.

New Rehearsal Room

In our new home we will need to furnish it with a kitchenette. This will be used during rehearsals as a tuck shop and for drinks, water etc. for very thirsty cast members and tea and coffee for well deserved volunteers. It will also be ideal for any small performances we hold in our rooms. In the past we have served simple hot food for evening events. Also, we will have a seating area so we will need chairs for this too. read more

Performance of Sweet Charity

A performance of the well loved and well known musical 'Sweet Charity'. The rights to perform by an amateur group only recently became available. Over the last few years it has appeared at the West End. The cast will perform the show for five performances at The Halifax Playhouse - 16th November to 19th November. read more
