Pure Magic
Adaptive Snowsports Milton Keynes (ASMK) is a local volunteer group that provides adaptive skiers with the opportunity to practise their exisiting skills in a fun and safe environment, whilst also giving them the chance to make new friends and meet like-minded individuals. Each year the group offers the opportunity to their members to go away skiing in the mountains, but needs trained helpers for these trips to be a success, but many cannot afford to help.
By offering financial aid to helpers, volunteers, and even instructors, that wish to donate their time to the ASMK holidays, even more skiers will be able to fulfill their dreams of skiing on real snow in the mountains. Each year skiers are turned away due to low helper numbers. With this project we hope that by providing more volunteers, even more skiers can attend!
The 2012 ASMK trip will be to La Plagne, France. All project costs are based on this.
ASMK is run by local volunteers and enthusiasts who are keen to help disabled skiers access snowsports, and without them the sessions would not be able to run. Their heavily subsidised sessions give recreational-standard adaptive skiers even more access to snowsports, and without them, many skiers would not be able to afford to ski. The money raised through this project will go towards the costs of taking helpers and volunteers away on trips so that even more ASMK adaptive skiers can attend. read more
