Emmaus benefits the local community in the following ways: * By providing opportunities for homeless people in our city to regain their lives and help others. * By providing low cost furniture and household items through our 3 retail outlets in Bristol. * By helping others in our city who need support. * By enabling people to dispose of their unwanted houshold items and reduce landfill.
Since we started in 2003 we have helped hundreds of homeless people move forward in their lives. Those who have joined us have found friendship, gained work and become independent and been reunited with their families. Many have gained skills and qualifications and one young man is now at University. Two Companions now have management positions within Emmaus. We now earn half of our income through our social enterprise and prevent over 200 tonnes of household items going into landfill.
Drivers - must hold a full UK driving licence. People to volunteer in our retail outlets - no experience needed, training provided.
