The objectives of the Club shall be the encouragement of Flat Green Bowling and the provision of facilities for such activities for all to enjoy. Encouragement includes - Monthly article in Village Magazine - Advertising Open Days and Club Nights to encourage new bowlers to come and try/practise Provision includes: - Maintenance of the Bowling Green - Maintenance of the Club House - Organisation of Open Days - Organisation of Club Competitions, League Matches and Friendly Matches
We provide the facility and organisation for all to enjoy the game of lawn bowls. Players may play in local leagues, friendly matches or just turn up and use the green for practice. Bowls encourages people to get exercise in the open air and also provides a social atmosphere where people can chat, discuss problems etc. This can be particularly helpful for those living on their own. Coaching can be provided to help members to develop their skills.
Our facilities have been significantly expanded by our own efforts. This has meant we can play more matches and particularly enter new teams in lower leagues to provide more opportunity for those less experienced to play competitively. We have been successful in welcoming a number of new members in recent years who came with no experience and are now playing well in the league matches.
Our volunteers are our members who not only play bowls but also help run the Club. If you think you would enjoy outside exercise, a good social atmosphere and would like to try your hand at bowls then contact us. We have a very extensive fixture list
