We provide the facility and organisation for all to enjoy the game of lawn bowls. Players may play in local leagues, friendly matches or just turn up and use the green for practice. Bowls encourages people to get exercise in the open air and also provides a social atmosphere where people can chat, discuss problems etc. This can be particularly helpful for those living on their own. Coaching can be provided to help members to develop their skills.
Our facilities have been significantly expanded by our own efforts. This has meant we can play more matches and particularly enter new teams in lower leagues to provide more opportunity for those less experienced to play competitively. We have been successful in welcoming a number of new members in recent years who came with no experience and are now playing well in the league matches.
Provide 8 sprinkler heads around green supplied via a pump from a 2500 litre tank. A control unit allows the system to operate at night which minimises water evaporation. Tank is fed by mains water but also from local dyke via pump and pipework which is more environmentally friendly as it saves using potable water for ground watering. read more
Our volunteers are our members who not only play bowls but also help run the Club.
