Hargeaves Narrow Boat Trip
Elderly people whose lifestyle is limited- owing to disability- often lose motivation and need company and something to look forward to. This in turn helps their family and carers.
Satisfaction questionnaires reinforce the importance of the club to those attending. The company, conversation and lasting friendships are as important as just getting out of the house. We have been operating since 2004 and still have some founder members regularly attending. The club can accommodate twenty members. There is a short waiting list. The helpers enjoy the club as much as the members.
Caring adult volunteers required from 10.00am to 3.00pm on Tuesdays to assist frail, elderly persons attending a day club in Nuneaton. Duties include lunch preparation; serving teas; assisting and participating in activities; encouraging verbal discussion and social integration of members. Please note: No personal care is required, but a good sense of humour is useful!
