Provide non-judgemental practical and emotional support for families with children under 5.
Families need support for many reasons, post-natal illness, a child's disability, family breakdown, bereavement or maybe they feel isolated from their community. Whatever the reason Home-Start provides support through volunteers and help to build the families confidence and ability to cope.
Why the community needs usWe currently support 16 families from the Bridgwater and surrounding areas. A volunteer visits on a weekly basis for around two hours each week. We are always looking for volunteers to enable us to support more families within our community.
Our impact on the communityMany families in the local community have benefited from Home-Start and have grown in confidence and the ability to cope, through non-judgemental practical and emotional support provided by our volunteers. Volunteers enable families to feel confident to access services for themselves and to lessen the impact of isolation.
