A quiet moment of reflection in Dorset
By providing information and education to 'concerned others' this often improves health and wellbeing. Connecting people in a similar position helps reduce isolation and provides a way of coping better. Supporting 'concerned others', often has a positive impact on the person using substances. We have a range of options giving an opportunity for people to choose what help they need. Connecting people is raising awareness of the problems in the community and helping to reduce stigma.
A recent Community Information Day evaluation reported 100% of people attending felt better informed about local services and support available. Many people who have linked with In Touch have felt more confident to access and engage in further training and are volunteering.
We have made a 3-5 minute awareness raising film, with personal interviews, highlighting the affects of addiction on the family and how this has a huge impact on health and wellbeing. The film was produced by Film Tank after spending two days with people who have been affected personally. Funds were donated from Wells Lions which were then match funded enabling us to cover the whole cost of the film. Film available to view on our web site. read more
