KPAC supports local people in identifying opportunties open to them and help to remove barriers to reach their goals. We aim to give people choices about their learning, in particular we give disabled people advice and guidance about what opportunties are available. We welcome people to talk to us about their learning needs and what we can do to support their learning.
In the last four years, KPAC has had over 900 people take part in different activities and learning experiences that range from trampolining and adapted team sports, to skills for independent living including money, shopping, travel and socialising, right through to more traditional training such as employability skills and setting up a social enterprise. KPAC has won a number of awards over the last 4 years for its work with disabled people.
KPAC will purchase a fully accessible holiday caravan which will include an access ramp, bigger more spacious rooms, grab rails, sliding doors, a full size wet room and low level kitchen facilities. The caravan will be located in the Lake District on a holiday site where all the facilities are fully accessible including the pool which has a hoist and trained staff to use it. Alongside the caravan, KPAC will deliver training to people with learning disabilities on organising holiday bookings. read more
