KPAC's Health and Wellbeing programme

The aim of this project is to provide a specific health and wellbeing programme for the local community. This programme includes weekly activity sessions and more traditionally class room based health topics such as: Boccia, New Age Kurling, Rebound Therapy, Outdoor Walking, exercise to music and leisure centre visits. Health topics include keeping active, smoking cessation, healthy eating and alcohol awareness.

Why they need our service

Disabled people in our community do not have the same access to services as others. This includes access to health and wellbeing services. Not many local activity groups are able to adapt sessions to suit those with less mobility or wheelchair users. This project is specifically designed and delivered with disabled people in mind where they are able to take part in activities alongside able bodies people including their parents and carers.

Accessible Caravan Holidays

KPAC will purchase a fully accessible holiday caravan which will include an access ramp, bigger more spacious rooms, grab rails, sliding doors, a full size wet room and low level kitchen facilities. The caravan will be located in the Lake District on a holiday site where all the facilities are fully accessible including the pool which has a hoist and trained staff to use it. Alongside the caravan, KPAC will deliver training to people with learning disabilities on organising holiday bookings. read more
