Why they need our service

For people who find it difficult to take the traditional employment route, setting up their own business is a good option for them. More and more people when making those first decisions in setting up their own business are choosing to set up as a social enterprise, ensuring that their business has environmental and social benefits as well as financial. This one day training course helps people with the decision making for those very first steps.

Plan and expected results

People in the community will be supported to set up or develop their own social enterprise. Many people have excellent ideas for social enterprises, but don't know how to take those initial steps to set up. This training day will give local people the confidence to take those ideas and form an action plan that will enable them to take their business ideas forward.

Accessible Caravan Holidays

KPAC will purchase a fully accessible holiday caravan which will include an access ramp, bigger more spacious rooms, grab rails, sliding doors, a full size wet room and low level kitchen facilities. The caravan will be located in the Lake District on a holiday site where all the facilities are fully accessible including the pool which has a hoist and trained staff to use it. Alongside the caravan, KPAC will deliver training to people with learning disabilities on organising holiday bookings. read more

KPAC's Health and Wellbeing programme

The aim of this project is to provide a specific health and wellbeing programme for the local community. This programme includes weekly activity sessions and more traditionally class room based health topics such as: Boccia, New Age Kurling, Rebound Therapy, Outdoor Walking, exercise to music and leisure centre visits. Health topics include keeping active, smoking cessation, healthy eating and alcohol awareness. read more
