Lambeth Action for Youth was set up to reduce youth crime in deprived areas in the borough of Lambeth, provide young people with opportunities to become active participants in making positive contributions to their community and promote community cohesion. The Freedom Youth Project has developed a curriculum that has been designed to identify and overcome the barriers of the lives of disadvantaged young people and families.
To help young people to overcome issues and challenges that they may be experiencing within their homes, schools and communities. We provide young people and their families with the opportunity to engage in a varied range of activities and workshops to enable them to reach their full potential and develop essential skills & knowledge. We aim to support young people who have barriers to learning, are engaged in or at risk of crime, anti social behaviour and educational/social exclusion.
We will provide activities/trips throughout the year once the project is up and running. The on-site activities will consist of a full and varied programme of activities which include Sports, Cookery, DJ Skills, Music production, Film production, Photography, Arts & Crafts, Dance & Drama, Workshops, Campaigning and a Homework club. The young people will have access to themed months which include Multicultural Awareness, National Nutrition Month, Personal Safety Month and Personal Fitness Month. read more
