Lighthouse was formed in 1989 to offer free, confidential, non-judgemental help and support to women and their partners facing a pregnancy crisis, or pregnancy loss whatever the circumstances, either recently or some time ago. Their aim is that every woman in their area of operation knows how to access the free and confidential help which is available. A registered charity and financially independent of the national body.

Why the community needs this charity

Supporting people suffering as a result of pregnancy crisis or loss when they are very vulnerable. Providing a safe, confidential place for clients to make their own informed choices, come to a better understanding of the emotions and circumstances they face with no judgement or pressure, regardless of race, colour, creed or sexual persuasion. To help clients reach a more positive outlook for their own wellbeing and that of other family members.

Results and outcomes

Many clients feel that they have benefited from the information, support and care that has been given to them in their time of need.Some have said that before they came for support they could see no way forward, lacked the confidence to try for another baby, but following support they feel more confident to make their own choices rather than the pain of previous situations determining the way ahead.
