Children and young people living with disabilities and their families, are at risk of social isolation due to the lack of services and access to play and leisure. The music club provides access to play and leisure that meets the needs of these families within the local area. Children and carers meet with other children and carers on a regular basis and in the holiday to access music activities, resources and workshops in a shared environment supported by volunteers from the local community.
The social interactions and self awareness of children with disabilities are developed through sharing, making and appreciating music, creative art and play. The talents and skills of children are developed and showcased through music fun days and activities that allow self expression and performance.
Music sessions at the music club involves activities such as turn taking, creative music making, arts and craft related to music and opportunities for disabled children and young adults to have access to new experiences and make friends. read more
Musicians with an interest in providing children and young people with disabilities with an opportunity to experience different types and styles of music. People willing to offer support with catering, administration and arts & crafts for children with disabilities during the music sessions. Must have CRB clearance
