Bolton Community Association is a non-profit organisation in Great Lever, Bolton

The aims of the association are to provide social, recreational and educational activities for the over 50's, women & children and young people with a special emphasis on healthy lifestyles. They provide trainin, education and the development of occupational skills, without the distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions.

Why the community needs this charity

EDUCATION:ESOL courses,IT support,free internet,driving test support,cv writing,helping to find a job,knitting,cooking classes. SOCIAL:Community meets and organise social events in the centre.Youth club SPORT:1.Stop bullying self defence seminar 2.Lets gang up for a better community 3.Ladies only self defence & cardio kickboxing 4.Self defence courses and workshop 5.Street danger management advance level course 6.Kick drug 7. Unity in diversity projects 8.community gym,circuit ses.

Results and outcomes

More community involvement,community cohesion,integration,understanding different cultures and backgrounds.Reducing teenage crime,vandalism and street gangs fights,negative effects on community,safe streets,More social activity in the area.

Community Gym and Martial Arts

Hosting a Martial Arts Festival to bring many local martial arts clubs together.Chinese Boxing,Boxing,Muay Thai,Wing Chun,Jiujitsu,Self Defence demnstrations,competitions give guests a good exciting day.Also food and drink,equipment stalls let people to do a bit shopping.also people can meet local services such as police,fire service,council and share their problems to solve them. Also we need to raise much needed funds to ensure the gym remains open. read more
