Helping young and adult Carers in North Tyneside with the practical and emotional support they need

North Tyneside Carers' Centre is the only carers service in North Tyneside and currently works with 1900 adult and 400 young carers. We have developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting carers and have established a reputation for providing high quality services, shaped by carers' needs and accessible to all. Carers are represented at every level throughout the organisation as most of our staff, volunteers and trustees are carers themselves.

Why the community needs this charity

There are approx 21,000 carers in North Tyneside. We make a difference by: Offering support to carers at an early stage in order to reduce stress levels and minimise the risk of a them reaching crisis point Offering timely advice, information and training to carers to help them increase their knowledge, skills and coping strategies Offering a range of activities which will give carers much needed time out from their caring role

Results and outcomes

We currently support 1900 Adult Carers and nearly 400 Young Carers, providing one to one support and groups, events and training.
