Ouseburn Farm a vibrant community resource for growing and learning.

Ouseburn Farm is a free visitor attraction which provides educational and training activities and social and recreational activities for the whole community. It was originally set up to show local inner city children where there food came from and still continues to do so today. It has evolved into a vibrant project offering visits and education activities for local schoolchildren, training to vulnerable adults and walks and talks for the local community.
Why the community needs this charity

The public benefit from a free visitor attraction, celebratory events, one off projects and opportunities to get involved through volunteering. Local shool children benefit from education and training in heritage, horticulture, the environment, the care and welfare of animals in a fantastic purpose designed sustainable environmental education and training centre. Vulnerable adults benefit from training and opportunities to partake in the workings of a real farm.

Results and outcomes

For the 1000's of people who visit each year Ouseburn Farm is a green oasis in the middle of the city. All visitors love meeting the animals and learning about their welfare. Participants leave having learned and enjoyed learning about the Farm and its award winning sustainable building.
