Everyone will have to cope with death at some time. Those who find it extremely difficult to cope can come to Cruse for help.
Oxford Cruse supports about 400 bereaved people every year. Our counselling helps them to move forward and begin to play their role in family and social life again.
To enable us to meet needs we require more qualified group counsellors. We propose to run training, conducted by an experienced and qualified Cruse trainer, accredited to level 3 by Ascentis, making it an accepted qualification. The funding we are asking for is for an initial training course of twelve trainees with two trainers, followed by three support groups in the first year and four groups in the second year. read more
We need people to train as bereavement support volunteers, telephone helpers, administrative supporters, fund-raisers, and to help with IT, PR and publicity events. All volunteers who are in direct contact with clients need a CRB check.
