Oxford Cruse supports people struggling to cope with bereavement.Grief affects us all and although most people cope with the death of their loved ones, some people find it extremely difficult to adapt to their changed lives as a result of their loss.Oxford Cruse provides free one-to-one counselling and support groups which can help people through their unique grieving process and help them take the first steps to a different and changed life.

Everyone will have to cope with death at some time. Those who find it extremely difficult to cope can come to Cruse for help.

Results and outcomes

Oxford Cruse supports about 400 bereaved people every year. Our counselling helps them to move forward and begin to play their role in family and social life again.

Latest activities and projects

Bereavement Support Groups

To enable us to meet needs we require more qualified group counsellors. We propose to run training, conducted by an experienced and qualified Cruse trainer, accredited to level 3 by Ascentis, making it an accepted qualification. The funding we are asking for is for an initial training course of twelve trainees with two trainers, followed by three support groups in the first year and four groups in the second year.  read more
