To provide out of school services and support for children,young people and their families/carers.

PARC aims to provide play and recreation facilities for children with disabilities in Essex and short breaks for their families and carers. PARC believes that every child has a right to play, and children with disabilities need play opportunities which allow for individuality and ability whilst ensuring safety, freedom and choice.
Why the community needs this charity

PARC provides short break services for over 280 children, young people and their families/carers. We are the only charity in our local area that is open every day of the year, including Saturdays and Sundays with the exceptions of bank holidays in a safe and fun environment.Parc offers services that cover a wide range of activities with children of every age and ability, including pre-school services, activities clubs, youth clubs, sports clubs and weekend and holiday short breaks.

Results and outcomes

PARC is a registered incorporated charity that was set up in 1995 by a group of parents of disabled children in response to a lack of local play opportunities and short breaks. The charity is governed by a voluntary management committee the majority of who have a disabled child that access PARC services. Our capacity has grown by 67% this year, identifying and definate need for the services PARC provide.

Latest activities and projects

PARC Charity Outlet

By opening the Charity Outlet we will be gaining an impressive, consistent income which will assist in the financial stability of PARC. This is an important aspect in any charity/business and will allow us to under-go new developments. Not only will it put more money in to the PARC centre, but will help raise awareness about our charity. PARC will benefit in many ways by having a shop in town, and we believe in expanding our brand that families, children and the community will do too read more

School Holiday Trips for Children with Additional Needs

Legoland,Danbury Activity Centre and Chessington trips will enable access all the rides and attractions,they will take a picnic and be able to socialize with their peers, and most of all to have fun and enhance the childrens experiences. We would also organise many other local trips during the Summer School Holidays.  read more
