to bring families with deaf children together
National deaf children society - affiliated to national body £20 per year national body guides local branch. If local body had questions they would look to national body - own local events. Committee are mainly parents of deaf children
Why the community needs usDDCS is the Peterborough and District Deaf Children's Society and we do what we can to provide lots of activities for children who are deaf or have hearing loss in our area (which is anywhere near Peterborough). We do lots of cool stuff for kids from babies and toddlers all the way to young adults (who do it for themselves really) and provide for parents too...
Our impact on the communityAs a result of funding we want the children to develop their self confidence and esteem alongside developing and becoming more aware of their identity. The children will also learn new signs and words linked with play.
All the children will be able to participate in the event. The benefits are that the children can have a day with their friends and siblings to enjoy themselves and feel equal. It is a chance for the parents to not feel alone and support one another
