Originally built as one of the first council estates in England, Pendower estate now ranks within the top 10% of most deprived neighbourhoods, particularly for health, education, income and employment. Pendower also has higher than average numbers of older people and children and young people. We work with the community to develop and run a range of services and actvities to help improve their lives giving people the opportunity to develop their potential and to be valued.
Our work is: Creating a happier, healthier more cohesive estate working together to tackle antisocial behaviour and crime. Creating good memories for young people, raising aspirations and helping break the cycle of deprivation. Giving older people the confidence to remain in their own homes by the provision of practical help like gardening and DIY, social activities and a lunch club. Providing volunteering opportunities to build skills and confidence and help people out of poverty through work.
