Portsmouth Mind strives to reduce social isolation caused by mental health distress and offers a range of support services to enable people to regain a sense of positive well-being and good mental health. We offer volunteer opportunities and training and work within the community to reduce stigma and discrimination through promoting awareness of mental health and well-being.
Our outcomes include; increased confidence and improved mental well-being. Being part of local community - social inclusion, new skills, volunteer work and/or training, achieving personal Recovery, greater independence, improved quality of life and increased hope.

Our women's group offers a different theme or topic each week, such as complementary therapies, personal development workshops, art work shops, healthy walks and out and about activities. Every 4-6 weeks there's a 'tea and talk' drop-in style catch up to discuss what the group would like to have on the time table. Portsmouth Mind is a friendly team looking to recruit volunteers with an understanding of the issues faced by people with experience of mental health distress. We offer a number of roles such as; telephone support worker, 1-1 community support volunteer, administrator, group work facilitator, trustee, fundraiser.
