Helpline Volunteer taking calls
When rape or sexual abuse occurs, which will effect 1 in 4 people during their lifetime it is devasting to them and their families. It effects all genders, ages and social groups, wealthy and poor. Survivors often use drugs, alcohol, self-harm and suicide to cope. Anonymous helplines support those too traumatised and ashamed to seek counselling sessions. Those seeking counselling can rebuild their lives, their families, gain trust and confidence and lead a healthy full functioning normal life
To support survivors so that they can overcome immense emotional and physical trauma and go on to lead normal lives. Results may take anything up to 2 years of specialist long term therapeutic counselling.
Volunteers to take the RASASC awareness displayboard, leaflets and promotional items to Health Fairs and College Fairs. Volunteers to take part in our sponsored walk on 13th May 2012. Volunteers to do a personal fundraising challenge. Autumn/Winter 2012 volunteers for new helpline training course. Contact RASASC after September 2012.
