We specialise in awarding grants to smaller, lesser known charities and community groups. We believe that these groups offer the support, services and activities that can really make a difference to people's lives.
We award grants to charities and community groups all over Scotland, funding projects which tackle a variety of issues, including rural isolation, urban deprivation, unemployment and environmental issues. We're also keen to support projects aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents and provide training and education opportunities. Groups funded or supported include Rag Tag n Textile, Timespan, Cowal Elderly Befriending, Project Happy & Glasgow Children's Holiday Scheme.
On 16th June 2012, our team of three Scottish Community Foundation colleagues successfully took part in the Caledonian Hike along the West Highland Way walking 24 miles in under 12 hours. With around a hundred others Nick, Jane and Fiona braved the wet weather (...and midges!) to raise funds for the Scottish Community Foundation's vital work. read more
