The Nightingale is a cherished and respected resource and adds a genuine richness to Brighton's cultural landscape. It acts as a hub for creation, artistic exchange and performance. It designs collaborative opportunities for participation with Brighton's communities and places. At its heart, is the presentation of artistic work of excellence to be discovered and enjoyed by the general public in exciting locations and contexts both on and off site.
Latest activities and projects
Dip Your Toe
During May 2012 the Nightingale, with Brighton Fringe and The Marlborough Theatre, presented Dip Your Toe: an interactive performance adventure for the streets of Brighton. Six custom-built Victorian bathing machines were the inspiration and venue for a series of brand new performances by South East artists and local schools and community groups, which created unforgettable experiences for the city and its visitors. read more
Volunteers Required
The Nightingale is always looking for enthusiastic and responsible people to join our friendly team. We need assistance with Box Office and Front of House, Press and Marketing Support, Production and Technical Support. In return you will be able to see shows at the Nightingale for free on shifts/days that you are volunteering and at a discounted rate at other times, subject to availability.
