Ventnor Sea Kayaking Club was established in February 2012 to help make a contribution toward providing more diverse activities for young people. The Club works closely with local community police support officers, social services, youth organisations and others to help encourage young people to take up a fun sporting activity as a means of developing a positive attitude to life through developing and improving; own health, confidence and self esteem, and communication & team building skills.
With support from sported, the UK's leading sport for development charity, Hampshire and IOW Community Foundation and Sport England, the club had been able to provide an accredited training program that in just a few months has 9 adults and 22 young people receiving professional coaching, with a further 15 young people waiting to take part. With your support we will be able to expand our training program to help develop more young people toward becoming self-confident responsible young adults.
Volunteering opportunities exist for BCU qualified individuals, leaders & coaches. Also for general assistance, fundraising, and event supervision.
