Our vision is of a society in which all people are encouraged and supported to play an active role in improving their own lives, the lives of others and their environment. We achieve this by: motivating people to give their time to local causes; ensuring people have an excellent volunteering experience; ensuring that volunteer-involving organisations have the capacity and the skills to recruit and retain volunteers.
Every year we take over 10,000 enquiries from people who are keen to get involved in their communities. We make sure that they find meaningful roles within organisations who are working to make our world a better place. It's good for them, it's good for the organisations and it's good for our communities. A recent study showed that £1 invested in volunteering can yield up to £30. Everyone's a winner!
This year we expect: 10,000 enquiries about volunteering in Bristol; at least 47% of enquiries to result in successful volunteer placements; 350 people with support needs (e.g. mental health, disability) to use our service as a way of improving their health and wellbeing; 60 people with high support needs to recieve intensive support to help them find a volunteer role; 180 volunteer-involving organisations to attend our training courses; 70 volunteer managers to attend our annual conference.
