To improve support and services for older people in the Winchester area who are socially isolated and housebound through a range of social activities and contacts. The outcomes of which benefit and maximise their independence, inclusion and feeling of well-being.
Why the community needs this charity

Helping older people who may be isolated or lonely for whatever reason feel part of the community. Services include at home befriending and a range of weekly social activities, all of which are supported by our team of volunteers. We aim to improve quality of life for older people and also to provide volunteering oppertunities for people from all sectors of society.

Results and outcomes

Enabling older people to remain in their own homes for longer and improving their quality of life. Activities such as our Exercise Classes and Walking Group also make a contribution to older people's physical well-being and health. Volunteers benefit in a number of ways. Volunteering enables people to gain work experience, give back to their local community and have a sense of purpose. It can also help the longe term unemployed learn new skills while seeking employment
