Helping older people who may be isolated or lonely for whatever reason feel part of the community. Services include at home befriending and a range of weekly social activities, all of which are supported by our team of volunteers. We aim to improve quality of life for older people and also to provide volunteering oppertunities for people from all sectors of society.
Enabling older people to remain in their own homes for longer and improving their quality of life. Activities such as our Exercise Classes and Walking Group also make a contribution to older people's physical well-being and health. Volunteers benefit in a number of ways. Volunteering enables people to gain work experience, give back to their local community and have a sense of purpose. It can also help the longe term unemployed learn new skills while seeking employment
We need volunteers for a variety of roles: Befrienders, Shoppers, Drivers, Driver Escorts, Fundraisers/Committee Members and Club Helpers. If you have some time available and enjoy the company of older people please think seriously about these vacancies which would be ideal for those seeking to get back into work, people who are retired or work part time, those looking for work experience in the care or charity sector and parents or students with spare time during the day.
