Wokingham premises
We provide a free, confidential, impartial and independent service of problem solving information, advice, mediation, representation and support for all members of the community regardless of race, gender, age, sexuality or disability. We help people with their problems in welfare benefits, debt, consumer issues, employment, housing, legal, relationship, tax, utilities, community care, education, health and immigration.
We focus on people as individuals and help them to solve their problems and get fair treatment. We offer tailored advice to each client - we don't simply hand out factsheets on debt to clients with money problems. We also exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally. We measure the benefits by recording the actual numbers of people that we help and the things that we help them with.
A team of volunteer advisers will visit people that our assesment service identifies as needing help via a home visit. read more
The telephone service assesses the needs of callers and works with them to identify what they, or the Bureau, needs to do next to help solve their problem(s). read more
