Y.E.S.S. offers a sympathetic and professional 'first point of contact' within an informal setting, taking into account the individual circumstances and difficulties of the young people who use it. Through a combination of moral and emotional support, linked to practical resources in association with other support agencies, YESS is helping many of South London's disadvantaged young people to build a better future for themselves.
Over the past 8 years the YESS project has worked with over 300 at risk youths. The YESS project aims not only to help students in the academic area but also to help them with other areas including housing and benefits. The 262 students working towards qualifications have achieved over 1200 qualifications ranging from entry level Key Skills to AS Level. Of the students working towards GCSEs on average each student achieved 4.8 with some as many as 10. See www.yesslondon.org.uk for more details.
Please contact us to find out what our needs are. We are always looking for teaching staff in the core subjects. Teaching qualifications are not essential.
