Everybody wants to live in a place where they feel safe and crime reduction is paramount to any community. High crime levels in areas not only effect the quality of life of residents but also create huge expenditure for local authorities and private businesses. Our solutions are both innovative and practical. Through Youth Empowerment, a team of fully trained and experienced ex-offenders deliver interventions to young people to divert them from crime.
Since the scheme became operational in August 2009, we have worked with over 1,500 young people. The feedback from referring agencies such as the Police, schools, youth offending teams and third sector organisations has been amazing. We have worked with some of the most difficult to reach young people and the levels of engagement have been extremely high. Our services focus on behaviour and attitudinal change and our evaluation shows that we are extremely effective.
The Youth Empowerment Crime Diversion Scheme is currently looking for people who would like to become Trustees of the Charity. We are specifically looking for somebody who has the skills and experience to be the Secretary. We are also looking for somebody to volunteer a few hours per week with finance experience.
