Kent Community Foundation
Kent Community Foundation is a registered charity committed to improving the lives of local people in Kent and Medway, particularly the most vulnerable, isolated and disadvantaged.
Kent is a county of extremes. Areas of relative affluence sometimes mask the very real need facing many in our county. Thanks to the tremendous generosity of the people of Kent, last year Kent Community Foundation enabled hundreds of wonderful local projects transform their local communities and support the most vulnerable. Over £2 million was distributed in grants, bringing the total funds distributed since 2001 when KCF was born, to over £13 million. But there is much more to do. We still have some of the poorest wards in the South-East.
Our mission
Our mission is to connect local people, who want to give something back, with local causes making a real difference in our own communities – from volunteer driver schemes for the elderly to employment programmes for people with learning disabilities. We work with local philanthropists - individuals, families and businesses – who want to invest in the people and communities of Kent and Medway. We have 10 years’ experience of working in Kent that ensures we have the expertise and networks we need to have a genuine impact across Kent and Medway.
