Norfolk Community Foundation is an independent local charity which offers help, advice and professional management to individuals, families, local companies and public bodies that wish to support local charitable activities.

We are an organisation for the county that awards grants to local groups and projects that are in real need of funding and that will make a real difference to the community and people they serve.

Most people give some money to charity, and NCF is keen to help make sure that gifts to local groups are as effective and efficient as possible, reaching those in greatest need and having a measurable impact on our society.

The Foundation also makes sure that charitable giving is increased through Gift Aid. There are potential advantages in respect of Capital Gains Tax mitigation and Corporation Tax relief for individuals and companies that could make our donors' money go even further.

The two broad purposes are

To work with the community supporting local voluntary and community activity through a programme of locally based, constructive grant making and capacity building. Unlike CAF and other agencies NCF is able to award grants to grassroots groups that do not have charitable status, but do make a local impact.

To work with local donors by pooling the donations of philanthropically minded individuals and community-minded companies into a high interest Endowment Fund. This provides a permanent and growing fund for activities that strengthen community today and in perpetuity.
