After a small processing fee, your £10 single donation with Gift Aid means the charity receives £21.54! A £10 donation without Gift Aid means the charity receives £19.16.
Q: How do I choose a charity to give to?
A: You can find, learn about and donate to a charity by entering your postcode or location and/or selecting a cause or beneficiary in the search box on the home page, or just click here to find a charity
Q: Can I only give to one charity?
A: You can give a single donation to as many charities as you like, but you may only set up one monthly donation per charity.
Q: Can I give anonymously?
A: Yes, you can give anonymously to any charity on Localgiving.com. When you give anonymously, the charity will not have access to your information. You can either request to always give anonymously through your supporter account, or you can choose to give anonymously per donation during the donation process.
Q: Can I claim Gift Aid?
A: Yes, if you are a UK tax payer, please do! Gift Aid makes a big difference to small charities by adding an extra 25% to your donation, at no extra cost to you. You can claim Gift Aid on monthly donations and/or when giving a single donation.

Q: How do I set up a monthly donation?
A: When you go to a charity’s webpage on Localgiving.com, you will see two options letting you make a single or a monthly donation. Click the Give Monthly button.
Giving monthly means you agree to a secure Direct Debit mandate administered by NatWest which sends the donation amount you’ve selected from your bank account to the Foundation responsible for the charity. The Foundation pays the donation plus any Gift Aid to the charity. You are asked to enter your name, bank account number, bank sort code, amount you’d like to give and date you’d like to give each month. You will not need to enter your credit or debit card details.
Q: Can I set up multiple monthly donations?
A: You can set up monthly donations to as many different charities as you wish, however, you can only set up one monthly donation per charity. You can edit the amount of your donation and/or the day of the month your donation is deducted from your account by logging in to your supporter account at any time.
Q: Can I cancel my monthly donation?
A: Yes, you can cancel your monthly donation at any time by logging in to your Localgiving.com supporter account and editing your direct debit in the Monthly donations tab.
Q: Will fees be deducted from my donation?
A: Localgiving.com is a not-for-profit organisation, so fees are deducted from donations made through the website in order to cover our running costs, which include providing a secure donation process and validating bona fide charities and community groups so you can give with confidence.
